Itinerary
At 8:00 AM, the group will meet the local guide at the designated meeting point. After introductions and preparing our gear, we will begin our journey to explore Hà Giang by bicycle.
As we ride along winding roads, we will pass through lush green terraced fields and charming small villages. The first highlight of the day is the famous Bắc Sum Pass. The experience of conquering the mountain summit and gazing at the sea of clouds below is truly remarkable. Continuing our journey, we will stop at Quản Bạ Heaven Gate to admire the panoramic view of the valley and the majestic Twin Mountains.
After a hearty lunch in Yên Minh, the group will continue to conquer Thẩm Mã Pass. The pass, with its serpentine curves, will test everyone’s courage.
In Đồng Văn, we will visit the H’mong King’s palace, a unique architectural marvel with a rich history. In the evening, we will be invited to stay with a local H’mong family to rest and experience their daily life.
Dinner, featuring local specialties and fragrant corn wine by the warm fire, is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
8:00 AM: The new day begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, featuring local flavors. Traditional dishes like thắng cố, xôi ngũ sắc, and phở chua will surely delight your taste buds.
If you have the chance to visit Đồng Văn on the weekend, don’t miss the Đồng Văn Market – a lively and colorful highland market. Here, you can immerse yourself in the bustling shopping atmosphere and explore countless local specialties such as embroidered fabric, chestnuts, forest honey, and corn wine. Don’t forget to enjoy a hot bowl of thắng cố to fully experience the distinctive flavor of the highlands.
After breakfast, we’ll start our exploration of Đồng Văn by bicycle. Riding through winding roads and taking in the majestic scenery of the Đồng Văn Stone Plateau, you will experience the pristine and poetic beauty of this land.
The Lung Cu Flagpole – a symbol of the country – is waiting for you. From the top of the flagpole, you can gaze into the distance, admire the magnificent view of the limestone mountain range, and feel a sense of national pride.
Around 11:00 AM, on our way back to Đồng Văn town, we will visit the Lô Lô Chải Village. This small village will take you into the simple life of the Lô Lô people. You will visit traditional stilt houses, watch skilled women weaving fabric, and listen to local folk tales.
12:00 PM: Lunch break in Đồng Văn Old Quarter. You can find a small roadside eatery to enjoy local dishes or simply sit back with a cup of coffee and observe the everyday life of the locals.
We will continue our journey at 1:00 PM, heading to Mèo Vạc. The road to Mèo Vạc will take you through the Mã Pí Lèng Pass – one of the four great mountain passes of Vietnam. The treacherous hairpin turns, steep cliffs, and winding rivers will create an unforgettable experience.
Along the way, you will encounter H’Mong villages. Stop at one of these villages to interact and learn about the life of the H’Mong people.
Upon reaching Mèo Vạc, we will check into the hotel and rest after a long day of exploration.
7:00 PM: In the evening, you can enjoy the local specialties of Mèo Vạc at a local restaurant.
At 8 A.M, we joined the bustling crowd and enjoyed a simple yet flavorful breakfast that showcased the essence of the mountains. From hot steamed rice rolls to spicy sour pho and many other local specialties, the culinary experience was truly unforgettable.
After breakfast, we spent the whole morning exploring the Meo Vac Market, where a vivid picture of local life unfolded before us. The market was filled with fresh produce, intricate handicrafts, and distinctive spices. The lively chatter, colorful traditional costumes, and cheerful atmosphere created a truly festive space.
On our way back, we stopped by several ethnic villages, where stilt houses precariously perched on mountain slopes, lush terraced fields, and the friendly smiles of the locals left a deep impression. We especially couldn’t miss Tham Ma Pass, a treacherous yet breathtaking road in Ha Giang. The feeling of conquering the steep pass and admiring the majestic scenery below was truly wonderful.
We had lunch in Mau Due village and enjoyed simple dishes prepared by the locals. After a short nap, we continued our journey by bicycle to Du Gia village.
The road to Du Gia wound around the mountains, offering us panoramic views of the vast green valleys. Finally, we reached Du Gia Waterfall – a natural masterpiece with crystal-clear water cascading from above.
In the evening, we checked into a cozy homestay with a Tay ethnic family. We gathered around a warm fire, enjoyed a hearty dinner, and listened to stories about daily life and customs of the Tay people, which helped us gain a deeper understanding of the unique culture of the region.
8:00 AM: The new day begins with a cozy breakfast at a local home. Imagine sitting on a traditional wooden veranda, enjoying a bowl of fragrant and spicy sour pho or savoring hot steamed rice rolls dipped in sweet and sour fish sauce, with the majestic mountain scenery stretching before your eyes. The crowing of roosters, barking of dogs, and chirping of birds create a serene symphony of the highlands.
On Saturday morning, visit Du Gia Market, one of the largest local markets of the H’Mong people. Here, you’ll be dazzled by the vibrant colors of traditional textiles, fresh highland produce like mountain apples and barley, and exquisite handcrafted items.
After exploring the market, head to Duong Thuong Viewpoint. From here, you can admire the city of Ha Giang, with its clustered houses, winding roads, and lush green rice fields. This scene is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
Continue your journey to Lung Tam Village, famous for the traditional hemp weaving craft of the Dao people. Here, you can witness the entire manual weaving process, from selecting fibers and setting up the loom to finishing the products. You can also buy unique hemp fabrics as souvenirs for your loved ones.
In the afternoon, relax at Nam Dam Village, home to the Black Dao people. Here, you’ll experience the daily life of this ethnic minority, enjoy traditional dishes, and listen to their captivating folklore.
5:00 PM: After a day exploring Ha Giang, you’ll return home with many beautiful memories and stunning photos. Ha Giang is not only an attractive travel destination but also a land rich in unique traditional cultural values.
